Community of the World
Christianity is the world's largest and fastest growing faith.
One reason for this is that Christians have such good news of what God has done for us, rather than simply good advice on how to lead a better life. As well as wanting to share this with our neighbours, we want to be involved in the work of building God’s kingdom around the world.
We encourage young Christians to get practical experience of mission work and financially support them on summer opportunities around the beaches and camps here and overseas. The church gives at least 10% of its annual gross income to world mission, and members direct that to where they know there are needs and opportunities.
Our congregation has been hugely enriched by the privilege of Christian friendship with followers of Christ from different countries. People from many races and backgrounds now make up the family here - a small reflection of what God is doing around the world.
The church has many connections to people all round the world. People in our congregation come from all over the world! We celebrate this diversity! It is important in our ‘global village’ not to become ‘tribal’ but to build relationships and give help to people all over the wider world.
